Residenza Universitaria RUME

Our Hall of Residence

Rume is a women’s university residence located in the center of Palermo, in a strategic position with respect to the city’s university campuses. A point of reference for the Palermo university community, it hosts—alongside its forty-four residents—students who take part in its various educational activities.

College of Merit recognized by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR), it offers a welcoming, family-like environment, ideal for experiencing your university years with peace of mind, authentic friendships, and many opportunities for growth.

Through its personalised educational program, Rume helps university students deepen and complement their academic studies with the “soft skills” that are increasingly demanded by the job market.

Living at Rume means becoming part of a close-knit community that shares study and leisure moments, supported by an attentive direction team and a staff that ensures careful management and full board service. Each student follows a personalized educational program, including cultural activities, soft-skill development, meetings with professionals, and initiatives to strengthen her competencies.

Like all residences of RUI Foundation, Rume is inspired by the message of Saint Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei. In addition to academic and community life, it offers a Christian environment where faith and culture engage in dialogue. Those who wish may freely receive spiritual formation.

Thanks to RUI Foundation’s national and international network, students can benefit from exchanges, experiences abroad, and lasting friendships. The hall of residence thus becomes an experience oriented toward the future: a place to grow, cultivate one’s talents, and build a solid foundation for adult life.

RUI Alumni: lifelong friendships

The meaning and the value of experience during the years lived at Rume do not remain confined to university years.

RUI Alumni are privileged because they have shared important experiences of their training that give continuity and strengthen, with the maturity of adulthood, the lessons they received at Rume and have been implanted into their professional and personal lives.

The association brings former residents of all Rui Foundation’s Colleges together. It promotes events, cultural meet ups, fundraising for scholarships, and offers residents networking opportunities with companies and the professional world.

Saint Josemaría’s Dream

Like all RUI Foundation residences, Rume also draws inspiration from the teachings of St. Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church.

The spirit of Opus Dei manifests itself in the life at the Residence, promoting an atmosphere of coexistence with others based on respect and love for freedom, solidarity, optimism; activities revolving around spiritual formation and Christian doctrine are offered to students, who can freely choose whether to participate.
